In Nakano City, the hometown of Shinpei Nakayama, who captured the calm natural scenery of northern Shinano in his many famous music pieces, you can listen to the familiar melodies at the Shinpei Nakayama memorial museum. The hot spring here excavated in 1990 at 286m, has a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius, a little on the high side, and is rich in sodium chloride. The refreshing one-story building overlooks the city and blends well into the surrounding mountains. You can relax inside, softly wrapped in a faint scent. The long bath, highlighted by its view of the landscape, is just large enough to create a misty haze around its edges. The bath is flooded with light because of its glass doors from end to end and you can gaze out at the peaceful countryside and the great panorama of the Hokushin-Gogaku. It is also possible to dine only next to this fantastic view.
