This hot spring is located in the far reaches of the Maguse mountains. The women's open-air hot spring is much larger than men's because "children usually bathe with the women."
In late March, snow still remains in the refreshing altitude of 700m. From the cracks in the stone wall of the open-air hot spring, you can find the Iwakagami flowers warmed by the steam and feel the breath of spring as you soak. The outdoor hot spring is on the ranks of "Ozeki" on a champion sumo wrestler scale for open-air hot springs and is noted for its spectacular scenic beauty. The wonderful natural environment here also makes a morning bath exceptional in the over hanging mist of the morning as you listen to the singing of the wild birds.
This spring was excavated 1200m deep and is replenished with almost 400l of 43 degree C abundant spring water every minute.
